The words of Rabbi Akiva teach us of the great role played by many women, throughout the history of the Jewish people.
It is an honor and a privilege to tell the story of the heroines that saved us from slavery in Egypt:
Shifra and Pooah – the midwives, Yocheved – the biological mother of Moses and his wet nurse, Miriam – the sister of Moses, Pharaoh's daughter (Batya) – the brave adopting mother of Moses, and Zipporah – the wife of Moses.
